Celebrated media personality Yvonne Okwara has been trending on App X formerly Twitter hours after her Tuesday Night Interview with Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.
Okwara became a topic of discussion after a section of social media users praised her interviewing skills.
Others praised the way she handled the interview with a set of what they termed as ‘tough questions’.
Okwara kicked off the said interview with queries to Governor Sakaja on his whereabouts after reports that he had failed to show up at the Senate severally after being summoned.
Yvonne Okwara: Governor it’s good to see you… where have you been? Seems like everyone has been looking for you, but nobody can find you. Where have you been?
Governor Sakaja: All over the city
Yvonne Okwara: But all over the world as well.
Governor Sakaja: No, No, No just one 7 day trip but I’m here now.
Yvonne Okwara: The Senate is looking for you and they can’t seem to find you, Professional Associations say they can’t find you? How is this case?
Governor Sakaja: That is not true; the Senate knew about my trip last week. Just a normal 5-day trip and the professional Association knows where City Hall is and I’m always available to meet them
The interview went on to discuss various aspects affecting the City of Nairobi and why the Governor has not honoured various summons from the Senate.
Currently, Okwara works as a senior news anchor and Business Editor at Citizen TV. She is also part of the panel that hosts News Gang on Thursdays as well as her prime-time bulletin – Tonight With Yvonne Okwara.
