A man's New Year date with a woman at a local hotel has landed him in hot soup. The man is said to have been asked to for a date at a local hotel by a woman.
He traveled all the way from Homa Bay and went to a serviced hotel in the Westlands area where he checked in.
Unfortunately, the woman didn't turn up for the much-anticipated date. His escapade was to happen on December 30 where he waited anxiously for his date to join him.
She had promised to meet him there and settle whatever bill he had incurred later, and so he held onto hope. The man stayed at the hotel for 11 days.
He was arrested by police officers after the hotel reported the man for incurring a hefty bill of sh466,965.
The hotel's management called the police on him on 11 January after confirming the man was unable to settle the bill and had run out of excuses.
He was presented in court but again failed to present a KSH. 400,000 bond for his freedom. He is currently being detained at Industrial Area Prison until he secures his release.
