The cause of death of Corporal James Makori Nyaega, 40, is yet to be known.

Neighbours at the GSU camp in Ruaraka complained there was a foul smell coming from the house before they alerted managers of the area on Monday evening.

The deceased colleagues arrived with a team of medics and found the house locked from inside.

Police said this forced them to break into the house where they found the body of the officer lying on the bed.

He was attached to the transit section of the GSU. Most of the officers in the section are those moved to the headquarters mostly on medical grounds.

His colleagues said they had not seen him for up to three days.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy to establish the cause of death, police said.

And police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found on the roadside in Kasarani area, Nairobi.

The body of the man aged about 30 was found half naked lying with injuries on the head.

It is suspected the victim was murdered at the scene on the night of July 1 when the body was found.

A probe is ongoing, police said.
