In his plea for help KImani had asked Kenyans for exactly Sh200k to start a business as he was struggling financially.
"Niseme au nionyeshe (should I say or go ahead and just show you)?" Said Nyako teasingly as she went on to ask the former TV presenter to guess how much in total netizens had contributed to him.
"So we are at Sh. 420,000!" The digital content creator said excitedly after a dramatic pause and Mbugua could not stop smiling from ear to ear upon hearing the amount.
Nyako went on to appeal to well-wishers to push the contributions to at least Sh500, 000 - which they did.
Expressing his gratitude to Kenyans and netizens in general for coming through Mbugua highlighted that he had not imagined his plea would yield such generous and hefty results.
"Thank you! Thank you so much. I never would have imagined ingekuwa hivi (it would be like this). I am so grateful to all of you. Asanteni sana," Mbugua said as he threw his fist up in the air in jubilation.
During an interview with comedian Oga Obinna the former TV presenter explained how he had been suffering since losing his job in 2020.
He also opened up on battling mental health.
