People mentioned in his list have come out to deny the allegations.

Here is what you need to know about the late reclusive billionaire:

1. He was 66 at the time of his death

2. He was a New York-based Financier. He ran a money management firm.

3. He owned several properties including an Island in the Caribbean where the acts were performed.

 4. Epstein started his career in New York City as a math teacher. He taught Math, calculus, and physics between 1973 and 1975.

5. Later in the 70s, worked for an investment bank, before founding his firm, J. Epstein and Co., in 1982.

 6. He was said to be a billionaire, but Forbes disputed that theory.

 7. When Epstein died, he was worth $577,672,654, according to a will signed just two days before his death.

8. He was a convicted pedophile.

 In 2008, Epstein pleaded guilty to a felony charge of solicitation of prostitution involving a minor, and was sentenced to 18 months in prison; he served 13 and was granted work release, which allowed him to commute to an office outside the jail six days a week.

10. Epstein was arrested in July 2019 on charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking. He was denied bail ahead of his trial.

11. On July 24, 2019, Epstein was reportedly found injured in his cell. 

12. Several weeks later, on August 10, he was found dead by apparent suicide, according to the New York Times.

 13. Epstein's death was officially ruled a suicide by the New York City medical examiner.
