Former KTN presenter Jamal Gaddafi is a thankful man after escaping death by a whisker after his car was swept away by floods in the Parklands area, Nairobi.

In an update, Jamal said that he was lucky to be alive after well-wishers quickly rushed to his rescue during the unfortunate incident.

“Alhamdullilah. I narrowly escaped death this morning along First Parklands Avenue when my car was swept away by floods. I am lucky that a group of well-wishers quickly came to rescue me,” Jamal Gaddafi said in part.

The media personality went on to ask Governor Sakaja to work on the drainage system around the city and ensure Nairobians are safe during the ongoing heavy rains.

“I urge Nairobi County Governor Johnson Sakaja to work on the drainage systems in Nairobi,” Jamal said.

Several parts of Kenya have witnessed floods following the ongoing heavy rains.

The Weatherman has warned that the ongoing rains will intensify over the weekend.

This was despite global forecasts saying El Nino is ending.

The rains, which are usual for Kenya every year between March and May, are reduced on Thursday and Friday after days of downpours and flooding.

Kenya Meteorological Department, in a five-day forecast, said heavy storms will return on Saturday and continue to Monday.

“Rainfall is expected to continue over several parts of the country,” said Kennedy Thiong’o, a deputy director at Met.

“Heavy rainfall events are likely to occur in some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, Southeastern lowlands, Coast and North-eastern Kenya.”

The heaviest rains will be experienced all over the country.
